Job summary

The Marquis Lounge in Portland, ME is seeking an experienced, part-time bartender for 3 days per week with opportunities for more shifts. You will craft classic and innovative cocktails, provide tableside service, and engage guests in a lively, creative environment.

We value enthusiastic, communicative team players with a strong hospitality mindset and a willingness to learn. Paid training for the first two weeks helps you settle into the role and our service standards.

Qualifications

• Proven bartender experience.
• Computer literacy and POS familiarity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• TIPS certification; if not certified, the bar provides training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails and other beverages for bar patrons
• Provide tableside wine and absinthe service
• Plate and serve snacks and caviar
• Develop a working knowledge of all menu offerings
• Memorize recipes and tasting notes, as well as recommended pairings
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed consistently to ensure a clean and courteous work environment
• On occasion help setup, manage, and breakdown both private and public events

The Marquis Lounge, a New Orleans-inspired bar, currently nominated for Best New Bar in Portland, has an opening for an experienced, part-time bartender (3 days per week, with opportunities for more shifts on a week-by-week basis). We are looking for an enthusiastic, guest-focused, creative person to join our team. Bartenders should be able to create both classic and innovative drinks while providing outstanding hospitality and tableside service. Looking for good communicators with strong interpersonal skills that are excited to learn. Our goal is to provide a challenging, fun, unique, and truly rewarding work environment with plenty of room for growth, creativity, and recognition for motivated individuals. Anticipate lots of customer interaction and opportunities for a variety of different types of service experiences.

Paid training for the first two weeks.
