Job Title: Bartender
The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a clean and inviting bar area, and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This position requires excellent knowledge of drink recipes, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. The Bartender works to create a positive atmosphere for guests while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and serve members/guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the bar.
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer requests.
- Take drink orders, suggest beverages based on customer preferences, and provide detailed information about drink ingredients and preparation.
- Handle necessary charges, ensuring accurate billing and processing of payments.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including cleaning glasses, utensils, and equipment, and ensure all bar tools are properly stocked.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels for bar supplies and ingredients, notifying management when reordering is needed.
- Ensure all liquor, beer, and wine is served responsibly, following company policies and state/local laws related to alcohol consumption.
- Check identification of guests to verify legal drinking age and refuse service to any guests who are intoxicated or underage.
- Interact with members/guests in a friendly and engaging manner, offering recommendations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation and service of bar snacks as needed.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines, including food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Assist with opening and closing the bar, including restocking, cleaning, and organizing the bar area.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on new drink trends, products, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, alcohol types, and bartending techniques.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests.
- Strong attention to detail, including the ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform physical tasks as required.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
- TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification or other responsible beverage service training is a plus.
Working Environment
