Job summary

Pacific Catch in Mountain View is seeking a part-time Bartender who delivers first-class service and hospitality. You will know cocktails, beer, and wine, present menus, take orders, upsell, and ensure timely drinks while checking in with Guests.

You should be at least 21, have at least 1 year in hospitality, stand for up to 5 hours, and maintain bar cleanliness. Weekend shifts are required; Sunday Dinner and Monday Lunch availability is a must.

Qualifications

• High school education is required; Hospitality or related degree is a plus
• Minimum 1-year experience in restaurant/customer service preferred
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine including recipes, history, base ingredients, and jiggers

Responsibilities

• Present drink menus and make recommendations to guests
• Take orders, serve drinks promptly, and check guest satisfaction; upsell when possible
• Record orders into POS and process payments/transactions accurately
• Fill in as a server as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operation
• Maintain inventory and bar supplies; restock and replenish as needed
• Ensure bar area cleanliness and organize bottles/glasses for efficient prep

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hours may be different every week and schedules are not set or guaranteed. Weekend availability is a must. Sunday Dinner and Monday Lunch shifts are a must.

Compensation

$19.70 Per Hour

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, including recipes, history, base ingredients, and jiggers
• Ensure a good Guest experience--present drink menu, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages; take orders; promptly serve food and drink, and check in with Guests regarding their experience; up-sell whenever possible
• Record drink or food orders accurately and immediately after receipt into POS; Accept and process Guest payment and make the correct change as applicable.
• Fill in as a server as directed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Restaurant
• Maintain inventory and bar supplies; assist in restocking and replenishing
• Ensure the cleanliness of the bar area (counters, tables, equipment, floors, etc.) always
• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Wash and sterilize glassware as needed

Education / Experience

• High school education is required; Hospitality or other degrees are a plus
• Minimum 1-year experience in the restaurant/customer service industry preferred

PHYSICAL

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
