Job summary

Ko-Kwel Casino Resort on Oregon’s southern coast seeks an experienced Bartender to craft cocktails and serve guests with warmth in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. You’ll verify ages, deliver accurate orders, and maintain a spotless bar while delivering memorable guest experiences.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of bartending experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and required health/Alcohol Awareness certifications. Weekend/evening shifts are common.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–3 years bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol.
• Strong knowledge of mixed cocktails, frozen drinks, and strict adherence to recipes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Verify all Guests meet legal age requirements and ensure responsible alcohol service.
• Provide friendly, personalized service that makes every Guest feel valued.
• Deliver accurate orders promptly and enter orders into the POS system.
• Maintain clean and stocked bar areas while tracking waste and spillages.

The Bartender plays a key part in delivering an exceptional experience that keeps Guests coming back.

What you bring to the table

• Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
• Provide friendly, personalized service that makes every Guest feel valued and appreciated.
• Verify all Guests purchasing alcohol meet legal age requirements and ensure responsible alcohol service at all times.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Deliver accurate food and beverage orders promptly and enter orders correctly into the POS system.
• Build rapport with Guests, learn names, remember preferences, and exceed service expectations.
• Resolve Guest concerns quickly and professionally, involving a Manager when needed.
• Maintain full knowledge of food and beverage offerings and use suggestive selling techniques when appropriate.
• Conduct final quality checks on drinks and food before serving to ensure presentation and accuracy.
• Practice proper cash handling procedures and maintain accountability for all transactions.
• Keep the bar, glassware, utensils, counters, and service areas clean and fully stocked.
• Clean spills, broken glass, and debris promptly to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with inventory counts, monitor par levels, and notify management of low stock.
• Support bar setup, side work, opening duties, and closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.
• Track waste and spilled items accurately.
• Assist in training new team members when applicable.
• Maintain a respectful, harassment-free environment through professional conduct.
• Remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
• Complete required and ongoing training for the role.
• Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running (Other duties as assigned)

• Strong knowledge of mixed cocktails, frozen drinks, and free-pouring to recipe specifications.
• Good reading, writing, math, and communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with Guests, teammates, management, and other departments.
• Required health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (must obtain prior to first of employment, as required by law).
• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
