Job summary

The Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa, part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a friendly bartender to deliver beverages and food to guests with warmth and efficiency. You will help maintain a smooth bar operation, take orders, and ensure guest satisfaction in a fast-paced lounge environment.

Ideal candidates bring cash handling experience, POS skills, and a solid focus on compliance with alcohol service rules while delivering memorable experiences at our downtown Honolulu property.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma (preferred).
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prepare and serve drinks.
• Cash handling and POS experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weight.
• Responsible alcohol service certification (if required).

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily bar setup and stock beer, wine, spirits, and supplies.
• Prepare garnishes and maintain fresh fruit/produce.
• Greet guests, promote and document orders; mix, garnish and present drinks.
• Abide by state, federal and corporate alcohol service requirements.
• Input drink orders into POS and balance beverages served.
• Handle cash, issue change, and balance cash drops.
• Lock up and store beverages and equipment; secure bank.
• Attend to regular attendance and other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Be Doing:

To serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the lounge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
• Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
• Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys.
• Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
