Salary Range: $18.00 To $30.00 Hourly
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Bartender is responsible for creating an exceptional experience for guests and team members by demonstrating a passion for beverages, food, and hospitality. This position provides friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service while ensuring guests feel welcomed and receive accurate, timely, and high-quality food and beverage offerings. The Bartender maintains a professional presence, delivers outstanding guest service, prepares beverages according to company standards, and supports overall restaurant operations by contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment.
General Duties
- Prepare, mix, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes, standards, and specifications.
- Provide professional and attentive service to bar guests, including food and beverage service.
- Prepare beverage orders accurately and efficiently for restaurant guests and servers.
- Engage with guests, provide menu and beverage recommendations, and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area throughout each shift.
- Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Support coworkers and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace environment.
- Prepare cocktails, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and other beverages while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Ensure beverages are properly presented and served according to company standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests while providing excellent customer service.
- Enter all orders into the POS system and process payments accurately, including cash and credit transactions.
- Maintain proper cash handling procedures, including balancing the cash drawer and accounting for all transactions.
- Verify pricing, discounts, and payment accuracy before completing transactions.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service procedures.
- Verify valid identification and comply with all alcohol service laws and company requirements.
- Handle difficult guest situations professionally and notify management when assistance is needed.
- Maintain inventory levels, restock supplies, and ensure the bar remains clean, safe, and organized.
Other Duties/Functions
- Communicate operational concerns, guest issues, or unusual situations to management.
- Recommend solutions and take appropriate action when issues arise.
- Assist team members during busy periods and complete additional duties as assigned.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and operational standards.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of beverage preparation, including cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and company recipes.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service, food safety, sanitation, and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to operate POS systems, process payments, and accurately handle cash.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and follow menus, recipes, identification documents, and company procedures.
- Ability to remain professional and composed in challenging situations.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment.
- Frequent interaction with guests, coworkers, and management.
- Exposure to beverages, glassware, cleaning products, and food preparation areas.
- Requires extended standing, frequent movement, reaching, bending, stooping, shaking, stirring, wiping, and repetitive motions.
Work Hours
- Scheduled shifts typically range from 4-6 hours.
- Weekly hours may vary based on business needs.
- Must be available to work a minimum of 35 hours per week.
- Must be available for day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
- Weekend availability is required, including at least two of the three weekend service periods.
Requirements
- Must be 18 to serve, sell, or directly handle alcoholic beverages.
- Must be 21 to pour alcohol.
- Successfully complete the Responsible Alcohol Service (RAS) course with a minimum passing score of 80%, as required.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol service regulations.
- Verify guest identification and age eligibility before serving alcohol.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, cash handling, and operational procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and workplace behavior.
Physical Job Requirements
- Ability to stand for the duration of scheduled shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds multiple times during a shift.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, wipe, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to immerse hands in water while cleaning and preparing beverages.
- Ability to continuously use hands and fingers for beverage preparation, POS operation, cash handling, and service tasks.
- Ability to communicate clearly with guests and coworkers and read menus, recipes, identification documents, and written instructions.
