Major Food Group is hiring bartenders to join Dirty French on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The role focuses on crafting cocktails, knowledge of spirits and wine, and delivering a memorable guest experience.

On-site duties include bar operations, inventory, and customer service with a vibrant, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of bartending experience, ability to stand long hours, and proficiency with POS systems.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in bartending.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours.
• On-site work including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, wine and proper techniques.
• Proficient in POS systems and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages for bar and restaurant patrons.
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks and snacks.
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails.
• Plan and present the bar menu.
• Check IDs and enforce legal drinking age.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Maintain guest-focused service and a safe, clean environment.
• Process cash and card transactions following procedures.
• Inventory and receive liquor products and manage bar stock.

Major Food Group is hiring Bartenders to join our team at Dirty French!
Located in the Ludlow Hotel on Manhattan’s storied Lower East Side, Dirty French is an energetic bistro created by the acclaimed hospitality brand Major Food Group and its co-founders Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi. The restaurant takes its culinary cues from the timeless dishes of the classic French tradition and enlivens them by utilizing modern techniques and bold, thrilling flavors

As a valuable addition to our team, you must ensure that guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. The ideal candidates will be passionate and have a commanding knowledge about food, wine, and service in general.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
• Plan and present bar menu
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Greet guests in a timely manner and take orders
• Process cash and credit card transactions following appropriate procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for guests and team
• Monthly liquor inventory
• Inventory variance analysis
• Order all liquor product
• Order bar sundries – ice, garnishes, bar mixers
• Inventory efficiency – ensure all product has application and purpose
• Invoice processing
• Receive and stock liquor product
• Liquor room - cleanliness and organization

REQUIREMENTS

• The position requires at least 3 years of experience in the desired job
• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
• Ability to work on-site for assigned schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to operate point-of-sales system accurately and efficiently
• Deep knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, wine, beer and proper techniqu
• Proficient in computer skills including POS systems, Word and Excel.
• Experience in high-volume restaurants is a plus.

COMPENSATION

: Hourly - $11.35 plus tips
