Position OverviewAs a Bartender at the Embassy Suites Austin, you’ll create a positive guest experience by serving drinks promptly and professionally. You’ll prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain a clean, organized bar, and follow responsible alcohol-service standards consistent with Arizona law and hotel policy.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide guest service: greet guests, take orders accurately, and make recommendations.Prepare and serve beverages per recipe, portion standards, and brand/service guidelines.Operate POS/cash handling systems: ring orders correctly, follow checkout and payment procedures.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, equipment, glassware, and workstations.Monitor and restock inventory (liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes) and track usage.Serve responsibly in accordance with Texas regulations and hotel policy (e.g., refuse service when appropriate).Complete opening/closing tasks including bar setup, prep, inventory counts (as assigned), and end-of-shift duties.Follow health and safety procedures, including proper food/beverage handling and temperature/storage requirements.Support events and hotel operations as needed (banquets, functions, or increased service during peak times).Required QualificationsAt least 21 years of age (required to serve alcohol; must meet Hilton/property requirements).Ability to obtain/maintain any required local certifications (e.g., responsible alcohol service training, food handler certification if applicable).Prior bartending experience preferred (or demonstrated customer service experience).Strong understanding of cocktails, beer, and wine; ability to learn Hilton drink/branding standards.Excellent communication and guest service skills.Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.Physical RequirementsStand and move for extended periods during shifts.Lift and carry supplies and perform cleaning tasks (typically light-to-moderate lifting).Perform frequent sanitation duties and glassware handling.Preferred SkillsComfort using a POS system and basic computer tools.Ability to work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and accuracy.Team-oriented mindset and reliable follow-through.Any relevant certifications (responsible service of alcohol, food handler, etc.)Texas Western Hospitality offers a comprehensive rewards and compensation package for eligible associates that includes:Opportunities for advancement and career growthWarm and supportive work environmentCompetitive WagesMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceFlex Spending AccountVoluntary Life InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) retirement plan with Employer MatchPaid Time off ProgramsHoliday PayJury Duty Leave and Bereavement Leave
