Job summary

Riley's Coffee Wagon in Indianapolis is seeking a Barista Team Lead to supervise the coffeehouse team, ensure high-quality service, and support store operations. The role runs 36 hrs/wk on weekdays 6am-3pm with rotating Saturdays, and requires ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities include team leadership, customer service, operational oversight, training, problem solving, and product management, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and merchandising

Qualifications

• Experience: Typically 2+ years of barista experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of specialty drinks, ingredients, and coffee equipment; ability to use computer systems for orders and reports.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, patience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods, and operate kitchen equipment.
• Requires ServSafe Manager Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise and train baristas, ensuring customer service, product quality, and safety standards.
• Customer Service: Build rapport with customers and maintain a friendly, professional attitude.
• Operational Oversight: Assist Retail Manager with daily operations, ordering, paperwork, and work assignments.
• Training & Development: Help with interviews and train new associates, appraise performance, and provide feedback to improve skills.
• Problem Solving: Address customer complaints and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
• Compliance: Follow food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and company policies; maintain needed certifications.
• Product Management: Stock and display products according to merchandising standards.
