Job description

Summary

This position is located at Sip of Glory Coffeehouse in The Peak. The coffeehouse is part of the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum.

Eligible Applicants

U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non‑U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Responsibilities

• Operates a small full‑service coffee shop, preparing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non‑alcoholic drinks.
• Prepares and serves simple food items.
• Operates coffee shop machinery, including commercial espresso machine, and stocks coffee bar.
• Records sales, takes customer payments for goods by operating a cash register, balances cash drawer at the end of the day.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, utensils, equipment and coffee bar.
• Conducts monthly inventory.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit required and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one‑year probationary period may be required.
• Must successfully complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
• This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
• A physical examination, arranged by the employer, is required prior to employment.
• Must be willing to accept intermittent, on‑call employment.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
• Work schedule will be irregular, requiring work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
• Must complete a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.

Benefits & Compensation

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system.
• Employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours a day or more than 40 hours a week, whichever gives the employee more benefit.
• Regular full‑time, regular part‑time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
• Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours fall after 3:00 PM.
• Non‑foreign overseas allowances, cost‑of‑living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
