Job description

Summary

This position is located at Warrior Lanes Bowling Center - Fort Polk, Louisiana, a modern facility featuring 24 lanes equipped with the advanced BES-X Scoring System and a snack bar. The role is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the United States, and to U.S. non‑nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for at least three continuous years prior to employment.

Duties
  • Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing, such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables.
  • Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
  • Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
  • Uses and cleans a variety of cooking utensils to measure, weigh, and process food items. Cleans, stores, and maintains all equipment and work areas after each use.
  • Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food and ensures that foods are stored at the correct temperatures to prevent bacterial growth. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Direct deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • This position requires a physical ability to work in a kitchen environment.

Benefits
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
  • Incentives will not be paid.
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week, whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Access to certain federal facilities may require a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license/ID or an Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL) from WA, MI, MN, NY, or VT.
