Job summary

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is seeking a Barista to deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing prompt service, quality beverages, and keeping a clean, inviting environment. The Barista adheres to Hard Rock’s guiding Principles and Amplified Service Standards.

You will quote accurate wait times, manage cash with a secure drawer, maintain dining room cleanliness, and participate in meetings while working in a high-volume environment and in a smoking setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 months experience in high volume food service.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English.
• Must present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
• Must possess basic math skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities, balance cash drawer.
• Must have 10-key adding machine experience.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must possess good guest service skills.
• Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
• Able to lift up to 25lbs

Responsibilities

• Creates a positive atmosphere.
• Builds and retains guest relations and mentors team members to provide superior guest service.
• Provides information on all aspects of Hard Rock services and facilities to guests.
• Quotes accurate waiting times and handles waiting guests.
• Responsible for the pickup, countdown and return of cash bank from miscellaneous count.
• Maintains accurate cash balance and handles money securely.
• Maintains dining room cleanliness including bussing tables and sweeping floors.
• Attend and participate in meetings and follow-ups.
• Perform work regularly and predictably.
• Other duties as assigned.
