Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products and helping with choices.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions with product suggestions.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve store goals.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipes and standards and handle transactions using company practices.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend coffee shop items to meet customer needs.
• Use equipment in coffee shop, such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens, espresso machines, blenders, scales and steamers.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Comply with safety procedures and food safety guidelines; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of items needing repair.
• Report accidents or safety risks to store management.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced or stressful environment and manage conflicts constructively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
