Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Douglasville, GA, is looking for a friendly coffee shop associate to deliver outstanding customer service and ensure accuracy in product selection and preparation.

You will help customers, prepare beverages to standard recipes, operate equipment, upsell items, and support store goals through teamwork, adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Previous comparable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve store goals.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions following company practices.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend coffee shop items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Use all coffee shop equipment according to guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support and assistance to diverse customers, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
