Mozz in Newport is seeking a Barista to join our Italian-inspired café and market. This in-person role trains you to serve hot and cold beverages, describe our menu, and ensure an excellent guest experience.

We value friendly service, attention to detail, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Pay starts at $16–$18/hour plus tips; benefits include health insurance and paid training.

Qualifications

Experience as Barista or waitstaff preferred; training provided.
Excellent customer service and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of sanitation regulations.
Able to work flexible shifts.
Basic math skills.
Strong ability to gauge guests preferences.
Excellent communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Greet guests as they enter.
Describe our food and beverage menus and know all ingredients.
Take orders with attention to details.
Prepare beverages following recipes.
Serve beverages and prepared food.
Receive and process payments.
Train to learn cheese and deli offerings.
Keep the bar area clean.
Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates.
Check brewing equipment operates properly and report maintenance needs.
Comply with health and safety regulations.
Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items.

Job description

Mozz is many things. Mostly, it’s Italian. With a touch of Newport sprinkled in. We are a cheesemaking facility, upscale eatery, pizzeria al taglio, cafe and retail market that opened in Newport, June of 2022. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team who share our excitement about all things food and specialties. This is not just another job. We are fueled by connection. We have an Italian Coffee Program, which means our preparation is simple, but superior. We are looking train a Barista to learn our program to serve hot and cold beverages the MOZZ way. Barista responsibilities include educating guests on our beverage & food menu and up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you have excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Experience is preferred but not required as we are willing to train the right person for the role. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent cafe experience for our guests.
