Job summary

HBHR is seeking a Barista in Norfolk, VA to provide friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced hospitality setting. You will engage customers, prepare beverages and light food, and uphold health, safety, and quality standards while supporting team operations.

This on-site role offers a weekday schedule with opportunities to develop customer service expertise and contribute to a vibrant, customer-centric environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in coffee shop/cafe environments is preferred.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Serve and deal with customers in a proactive, courteous, friendly and helpful manner;
• Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards are met, including, but not limited to, Manual handling;
• Actively promote NAAFI and sales activity by proactively offering advice to customers and acting on their comments and suggestions in order to increase sales and our brand image;
• Accept and accurately process payment for goods and food using a variety of methods;
• Prepare and serve food and drinks in line with all Food Safety and HACCP requirements;
• Check and replenish stock levels ensuring all legislation is met as well as NAAFI requirements on quality and presentation;
• Proactively maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety of our premises and ensure the requirements of any cleaning rotas and schedules are completed;
• Assist colleagues in the completion of outlet daily, weekly and monthly tasks as directed by the outlet schedules and line manager;
• To undertake any reasonable request within the scope and grade of the role and to carry out other duties as reasonably requested by NAAFI for the needs of the business to enable delivery of service, including taking part in activities in the wider operational part of the business as and when required.
