Riggs Washington DC, part of Lore Group, is seeking a friendly barista to craft espresso beverages and provide attentive service in a fast-paced hotel setting. You’ll work with the Café Riggs team and coordinate with restaurant and front-of-house staff, ensuring quality drinks and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso, cappuccino, latte, americano, and other coffee beverages.
• Take guest orders and process payments accurately.
• Provide friendly, attentive service to hotel guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and service area.
• Operate and clean coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
• Restock coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.
• Follow hotel standards for food safety, hygiene, and beverage quality.
• Handle guest questions, requests, and complaints professionally.
• Work efficiently during busy breakfast, lunch, or peak service periods.
• Coordinate with hotel restaurant and front-of-house staff when needed.

Job description

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.

Key responsibilities
