Job summary

SSP America in San Jose, CA is seeking a friendly Barista to prepare, serve, and sell beverages for travelers in an airport environment. Must have open availability 3:30am–11:30pm, Monday through Sunday, and enjoy fast-paced quick-service work.

You will greet guests, handle orders via POS, process payments, and prepare a wide range of drinks and food items while following recipes and health standards. Team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in quick service, coffee, or cafe environments preferred.
• Ability to greet guests politely and manage orders accurately.
• Cash handling and basic math for change and payments.
• Follow all recipes and ensure portion control.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Process orders and enter them into the POS system accurately.
• Receive payment and provide correct change.
• Serve hot, cold, and beverage items along with food selections.
• Follow recipes and maintain portion control for all items.
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists.
• Maintain health standards through cleaning tasks as assigned.

Must have open availability Monday - Sunday from 3:30am - 11:30pm.At SSP America, our Baristas have the important role of preparing, serving, and selling wonderful beverages for our guests. If you’ve been to an airport, you know how important that caffeine fix is for travelers!
If you’ve enjoyed working in quick service restaurants, coffee or tea shops, or fast casual restaurant concepts, you’ll fit in on our team!
Here are a few things you can expect as a Barista:

• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Serve cold, frozen, and hot drinks as well as a wide variety of food items to guests.
• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required.
• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
