Barista (Food Services)

If you love coffee, then we believe you will love our coffee bar! We have an exciting position as a PT Barista at our North Babylon store Espresso Bar. This position requires the individual to be 18 years of age or older and available with weekend/holiday flexibility.

Our Baristas are responsible for making and serving beverages to customers at Uncle G's Marketplace. This includes greeting customers, preparing hot and cold beverages, and serving them with a friendly approach. Some food items are also served alongside beverages.

Responsibilities

1. Greet customers in a friendly manner and take food and drink orders.
2. Prepare and serve beverages, from simple to complex drinks.
3. Promote and recommend menu options to customers.
4. Process payments from customers.
5. Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Must be at least 18 years old.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a server or barista.
3. Excellent listening and communication skills.
4. Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
5. Practice basic safety procedures with equipment and hot beverages.
6. Efficient and organized.
7. Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
8. Maintain a clean work environment.
9. Keep supplies replenished to minimize downtime.

Working Conditions

Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces. May need to frequently bend, climb, crawl, handle, pull, reach, and stoop. May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds or more with assistance. Usually in a comfortable indoor environment but may be exposed to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, and noise levels requiring shouting to communicate.
