Employment Type: Full-Time Only, M-F 7:00AM to 4:00PM with occasional Weekends

Pay: $13-$14 + Tips based on experience and additional responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate has previous coffee shop or barista experience, takes pride in preparing high-quality drinks, light sandwiches and paninis, provides friendly and efficient service, and understands that maintaining a clean, organized café is an essential part of the job. This is a hands-on position that includes drink preparation, customer service, food/sandwich making and handling, restocking, and daily cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and other beverages accurately and consistently
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment
• Provide friendly, attentive, and efficient customer service
• Take customer orders and accurately process cash and card transactions
• Maintain product quality and presentation during busy service periods
• Restock cups, lids, milk, syrups, food items, and other supplies throughout the shift
• Follow proper food-safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures
• Assist with opening and closing responsibilities
• Work cooperatively with other team members to keep service running smoothly

Cleaning Duties

• Cleaning and sanitizing counters, tables, workstations, and food-contact surfaces
• Washing mugs, pitchers, utensils, containers, and café equipment
• Cleaning espresso machines, steam wands, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Emptying trash and replacing liners
• Cleaning and maintaining customer seating and service areas
• Cleaning restrooms as assigned
• Wiping down refrigerators, shelving, equipment, and storage areas
• Completing opening, closing, and scheduled cleaning checklists
• Helping maintain an organized back-of-house and storage area

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience or food service experience preferred, familiarity with café operations highly valued
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Toast
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and communication skills
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently while processing sales, opening/closing activities.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
• Experience preparing espresso-based beverages and steaming milk
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Willing and able to perform cleaning duties throughout each shift
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical tasks associated with café work
• Availability for full time M-F and weekends/holidays as applicable
• Food Handler certification required, either existing certification or willing to obtain one after hiring
