Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support the care team in a busy weight management and bariatric program. The role includes clinical rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, specimen handling, and lab duties, alongside administrative tasks to keep patient care moving smoothly.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent training, and current BLS certification, plus CMA/RMA certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent structured clinical training.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• CMA or RMA certification eligibility with national organizations.
• Two years of clinical MA experience.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and department policies.
• Rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, medication reconciliation, health history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered.
• Perform lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administer medications and vaccines per medication rights.
• Handle administrative duties: referrals, scheduling, insurance authorizations, messaging.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and assist with onboarding teammates.
• Ensure age-appropriate patient care and growth/development considerations.
