Job summary

The Food Hall Co. is seeking skilled barbacks to join our team. This vital support role assists bartenders and helps ensure smooth shifts, with required weekend availability. The position is a barback role within a hospitality-focused food hall environment.

You will maintain a clean, stocked bar, assist with basic prep, and deliver friendly guest service while upholding sanitation and safety standards. Beneficial teamwork and reliability are valued highly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of restaurant and bar experience.
• Must read/speak English; bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Maintain current Food Handler’s and State Alcohol Serving certifications.
• Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Able to read and follow recipes for juices and batch cocktails.
• Properly use a knife and other kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests professionally and in a friendly manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work.
• Wear the proper uniform at all times (non-slip shoes required).
• Maintain a clean and well-organized bar.
• Stock liquor, beer, ice, wine, and glassware throughout the shift.
• Label, date, cover, and refrigerate prepped items in the bar.
• Open, close, and perform side work duties.
• Rotate product to maintain freshness; prepare garnishes.
• Assist the bartender in greeting guests and welcoming them upon arrival.
• Use bar equipment and sanitation products per State Health Department Standards.
• Communicate questions or issues to Management promptly.
• Work collaboratively with coworkers.
• Set up the team for success in the next shift.
• Clear and clean: wipe tables, clean floors, tidy dining area.
• Stock supplies: replenish utensils, napkins, condiments.
• Provide a pleasant dining experience and assist with guest requests.
• Assist with dishwashing and side station maintenance.
