Job summary

Opry Entertainment Group seeks a Barback to support the bar in our live music venues. You will stock and clean the bar, assist bartenders, and help keep the venue running smoothly during high-volume shows. You are fast, friendly, and focused on delivering memorable experiences.

Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, sanitation, safety, and assisting with inventory. Must comply with policies and be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays in a lively, music-filled setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in restaurant operations preferred.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal and verbal communication.
• Capable of handling intoxicated guests safely and calmly.
• Able to work during peak times, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Keep beverage storage clean; assist with inventory and rotation.
• Perform opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
• Follow sanitation procedures and health regulations at all times.

• Communicate upcoming events in the venue and maintain bar cleanliness.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service per policy and training.

Job description

As a Barback in our legendary music and entertainment venues, you'll be the behind-the-scenes herowho keeps the bar running smoothly so our bartenders can shine. You'll stock and clean the bar andperform related tasks to increase the efficiency and productivity of the bartending team in a high-volume, music-fueled environment. As the ideal candidate, you're fast, friendly, and focused, understanding that in a venue with this much musical history, every shift is about delivering unforgettable experiences!

• Set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Restock ice bins, beverages, kegs, plasticware, etc,
• Keep all beverage storage areas clean and organized at all times. Assist with inventory, product rotation (FIFO), and date labeling to ensure fresh products are readily available for preparation.
• Perform defined opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
• Comply with bar weekly deep cleaning schedule. Put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles. Make sure trash receptacles are clean and odor-free.
• Attend pre-shift meetings. Stay informed of current menu items and descriptions.
• Communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and company policies.
• Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware, bussing bar top, clearing bar and service bar, cleaning spills, and floor and guest facing areas clear of debris.
• Follow sanitation procedures required by health regulatory agencies in both public areas and back of house.
• Comply with all company issued steps of service. Follow all corporate policies, safety and security procedures, and brand SOPs. Promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Speak, hear, and use non-verbal cues to communicate. Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items. Walk up and down stairs while navigating the venue. Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and frequently sit, kneel, bend, and reach to move goods. Manual dexterity for tasks such as handling dishes.

Working Conditions

Restaurant/bar/live music environments, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
