Job summary

Opry Entertainment Group is seeking a Barback to keep our venues stocked and operations running smoothly during events. You will stock bars and concession areas, maintain clean and organized spaces, and assist with inventory and safety procedures.

The ideal candidate is fast, friendly, and focused on delivering unforgettable experiences for guests in a high-volume setting. Must be able to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stock bars, concession stands, and satellite locations for events by replenishing supplies.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked work areas.
  • Communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue.
  • Assist with inventory, product rotation (FIFO), and dating labeling for freshness.
  • Ensure trash/recyclables are properly disposed and guest areas remain clean.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per local laws and company policies.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and perform opening, running, closing duties as assigned.
  • Follow all safety, security, and brand SOPs; report issues to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Barback in our iconic venues, you'll keep our venue fully stocked and bar operations running smoothly. You'll stock and clean the bar and perform related tasks to increase the efficiency and productivity of the bartending team in a high-volume, music-fueled environment. As the ideal candidate,you're fast, friendly, and focused, understanding that every shift is about delivering unforgettableexperiences.

  • Prepare and stock bars, concession stands, and satellite locations for events by replenishing ice, beverages, kegs, plasticware, and other supplies based on par levels.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked work areas throughout events.
  • Communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue.
  • Keep beverage storage areas clean and organized at all times. Assist with inventory, product rotation (FIFO), and date labeling to ensure fresh products are readily available for preparation.
  • Put all trash and recyclable products in proper receptacles. Make sure trash receptacles are clean and odor-free. Keep guest facing areas clear of debris.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training and company policies.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings. Perform defined opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all company issued steps of service. Follow all corporate policies, safety and security procedures, and brand SOPs. Promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • 1+ years' related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Basic mathematical skills required
  • Demonstrated team player and self-starter
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support business needs

Licenses / Certifications

  • State Alcohol Education Card required upon hire

Physical Requirements

Speak and hear to communicate effectively and use near, distance, and color vision to process inventory. Stand and walk for extended periods, while carrying items. Regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and frequently sit, kneel, bend, and reach to move goods. Manual dexterity for tasks such as using a computer and handling merchandise.

Working Conditions

Restaurant/bar/live music environments, indoors and outdoors, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
