Job summary

The Warbler Hotel in New Orleans is seeking a Barback to support our Spanish restaurant bar and upstairs pool bar. You will help keep bartenders stocked, prep mise en place, and ensure glassware, ice, and spirits are ready for service.

This hourly, non-exempt role requires six months of related experience, physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to clean, organized service areas. Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of barback, food running, restaurant support, warehouse, or comparable high-volume service experience.
• Ability to lift heavy beverage goods safely and work accurately during busy service.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, rotation, and safe glass handling.

Responsibilities

• Open and stock both bars to par, including spirits, modifiers, mixers, citrus, herbs, syrups, garnishes, napkins, straws, menus, bar tools, and non-alcoholic options.
• Produce and transport ice types; maintain ice wells, bins, and scoops in sanitary condition.
• Polish, inspect, rack, and stage stemware and barware free of water spots and damage.
• Receive beverage deliveries, rotate stock, and organize backstock using FIFO and security protocols.
• Assist with wine cellar organization and inventory under manager direction.
• Prepare bar mise en place per standards and dating guidelines.
