InterContinental Indianapolis is hiring a friendly bartender to deliver exceptional service on Monument Circle. You’ll clear, wash, restock, and prepare drinks while maintaining a clean, safe bar area and supporting opening/closing duties.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver friendly, efficient service in a high-volume bar.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and guest focus.
• Ability to read and follow safety and beverage guidelines.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Clearing empty glasses, bottles, and debris from the bar top and tables.
• Washing and polishing glassware; ensure ample supply.
• Wiping bar surfaces, counters, and equipment.
• Emptying trash and recycling; maintain cleanliness.
• Clean spills promptly and keep restrooms/back bar organized.
• Restock ice, kegs, liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.
• Prepare garnishes and basic drink ingredients.
• Rotate stock (FIFO) and fetch supplies for bartenders as needed.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment and follow health/safety regulations.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different,but you’ll mostly be:

• Clearing empty glasses, bottles, and other debris from the bar top, tables, and surrounding areas.
• Washing and polishing glassware, ensuring an ample supply is always available.
• Wiping down bar surfaces, counters, and equipment.
• Emptying trash and recycling receptacles.
• Cleaning spills and other messes promptly.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the back bar area, storage areas, and restrooms (if assigned).
• Restocking ice bins and ensuring an adequate supply of ice is always available.
• Replacing empty beer kegs and CO2 tanks.
• Restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
• Preparing garnishes such as fruit slices, wedges, and other cocktail decorations.
• Ensuring that all supplies are properly stored and rotated (FIFO - First In, First Out).
• Fetching supplies for bartenders as needed.
• Preparing basic drink ingredients such as juices and syrups.
• Changing beer kegs and CO2 tanks.
• Assisting with opening and closing duties.
• Maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations.

What we need from you

• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
• A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math
• The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language

• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to
