InterContinental Indianapolis on Monument Circle invites you to join Astrea Rooftop Bar as a weekend, part-time server. You’ll deliver exceptional guest service, greet guests, take orders, and help create memorable experiences in a luxury setting.

We value energy, flexibility to work nights and weekends, and at least two years of hospitality experience. You’ll learn menus, pairing, and service standards while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide guests with exceptional service to achieve customer satisfaction.

• Present checks to kitchen/bar, ensure accuracy, and deliver to guest with condiments.
• Close guest checks promptly and reset stations for the next shift.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities and local events.

A little taste of your day-to-day

• Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Provides guests with exceptional service in order to achieve customer satisfaction.

• Reviews the menu and becomes thoroughly familiar with food and beverage items and means of preparation being offered that day, including the ingredients, preparation, sauces, spirits and garnishes as well as the wine list, what cocktails compliment which food items, and why.

• Checks with manager for assigned station. Ensures station is properly set up and cleaned before, during, and after shift.

• Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explains any specials and/or restaurant/lounge promotions for guest awareness.

• Takes guests’ cocktail and food orders, answering all menu questions, making helpful suggestions, and citing a favorite item.

• Presents properly written food check to kitchen/bar, informing of particulars in the order being placed; when complete, retrieve order, confirm its accuracy, and deliver to guest along with appropriate condiments.

• Anticipates guests’ needs.

• Practices “clean as you go” techniques of service, including refolding napkins and cleaning between courses, and keeping the station clean, neat, and supplied at all times.

• Closes all guest checks in a timely manner, ensuring all checks are properly signed and printed.

• Completes assigned side work and resets tables for the next meal function.

• Maintains current knowledge of hotel culture, amenities and services, events in the area, points of interest, and services in the area.

What we need from you

• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling

• A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math

• The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts

• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language

• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to
• Minimum of 2 years of relative experience required

The hourly pay rate for this role is $5 + tips.
