Job summary

InterContinental Indianapolis, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Host to warmly greet guests, manage seating and reservations, and coordinate with the service team. You will play a key role in delivering a refined guest experience in a luxury setting on Monument Circle.

The ideal candidate excels in customer service, can multitask during peak periods, and maintains a welcoming and polished presence at the host stand. This role offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

A little taste of your day-to-day

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, and then escort them to table and present menu.
• Inform servers of new guests.
• Maintain accurate waiting list as needed; advise guests when seating is available.
• Control the reservation book.
• Answer host stand telephone promptly and courteously.
• Maintain knowledge of table numbers and seating capacities for the shift.
• Inspect tables and buffets for proper settings.
• Ensure proper lighting and heating in the area; ensure proper volume of background music.

What We Need From You

• The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
• Able to stand for long periods of time while at the host stand
• A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math
• The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts
• Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
• Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to

The hourly pay rate for this role is $16. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
