aliveOne in Chicago is seeking a Barback to join our lively team. You’ll support a high-volume bar environment, help keep service smooth, and play a key role in a fun, guest-focused setting.

The role offers part-time and full-time opportunities, a starting wage of $12.62 per hour plus tips, and a benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) with company match. Evening and weekend availability is a must.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Must be reliable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the bar for service and keep it stocked.
• Monitor bar needs and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
• Change blown kegs and maintain bar cleanliness and glassware.
• Bus tables and assist servers as needed to keep momentum.
• Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork at all times.

aliveOne is our flagship location paying homage to live music, past and present. Serving up the best in music and spirits, any night of the week you can enjoy half-price happy hour, live concert DVDs playing on the TVs and Chicago’s only all-live music jukebox playing in the front room. Our weekly events include a new live band in the back room every Wednesday, our Thursday resident band, DJ dance parties on Friday and Saturday, and many others.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Ensure that the bar is prepared and set up for success
• Keep constant awareness of the bar’s needs
• Change blown kegs
• Keep the bar clean, including all workspaces and glassware
• Replenish and stock ice, alcohol, juices, glassware, etc.
• Bus tables throughout shift
• Great communication skills
• Be a good teammate
• Be responsible, show personal accountability, and be reliable
• High-volume barback experience preferred
• Must maintain alcohol knowledge and safety certifications as required by company and city/state
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and certain holidays
