Job Summary:

The barback is an essential part of this experience. You are responsible for many of the small details that make these moments special. Your duties include stocking specialty ice, replenishing glassware, and filling infusions, syrups, and batches. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to grow and sharpen their skills.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have 2+ years experience in a fast-paced, cocktail-centric environment as a Bartender or Barback.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Comfortable with repetitive motions such as bending and standing.
• Basic knowledge of liquors.
• Full schedule availability.
• Ability to take constructive criticism and work well in a team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Properly carry and clear glassware.
• Use trays correctly to clear and carry items.
• Understand when to refill water glasses at a table.
• Maintain station cleanliness, including bar tops.
• Perform the sequence of service as required.
• Understand and explain core values of Kent Hospitality Group.
• Identify bar, cocktail table, dining room table, and seat numbers.
• Complete bar setup and breakdown.
• Stock the bar properly, including bottles, soda, liquor, wine, etc.
• Follow proper standards for clearing tables.
• Mark tables appropriately.
• Knowledge of menu items and allergies.
• Serve coffee and tea properly.
• Know the key personnel at Kent Hospitality Group.
• Explain the ‘Time and Tide’ story.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be warm, knowledgeable, and appreciative of guests.
• Make each guest feel welcome and comfortable.
• Maintain professionalism and composure at all times.
• Report problems immediately to management.
• Adjust service flow and timing to meet guest needs.
• Implement steps of service effectively.
• Oversee activities within your station.

JOB DUTIES:

• Clock in and out at scheduled times, in uniform.
• Oversee the setting of the dining room according to the seating plan.
• Complete side work and closing procedures.
• Attend pre-shift meetings as scheduled.
• Assist in dining room activities as needed.
• Complete closing paperwork and tip sheets.
