Job summary

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is seeking enthusiastic, reliable Bar Staff for Magical Winter Nights, our after-hours holiday event transforming the Museum into a glow of light, sound, and surprise.

This seasonal, temporary position runs from mid-October through January 5, 2027. You will work 3-4 days/week, averaging 20-24 hours per week, with no tips. The role pays $23/hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass Responsible Vendor training and ServSafe certification.
• 6 months' experience working in a fast-paced bar.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays including December 24, December 31, and January 1.

Responsibilities

• Festive Beverage Service: Mix, pour, garnish cocktails, beers, wines and themed holiday drinks or mocktails.
• Customer Service: Greet guests with holiday cheer and provide a warm welcoming experience.
• Safety and compliance: Verify IDs and monitor for intoxication according to liquor training and standards.
• Maintain a clean, orderly bar and restock liquor as needed.

The weekly scheduled hours for this position are varied based on operational needs. You can generally expect to work 20-24 hours a week, but these hours may fluctuate. Essential Duties

• Festive Beverage Service: Mix, pour, garnish traditional cocktails, beer, wines and themed holiday specialty drinks or mocktails efficiently.
• Customer Service: Greet guests with holiday cheer, take orders and provide a warm welcoming experience that enhances the Magic Winter experience.
• Safety and compliance check: Follow liquor training, safety and standards to verify ids, legal age and monitor for intoxication.
• Maintain a clean, orderly bar, restock liquor as needed and keep everything orderly.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• Must pass Responsible Vendor training and obtain ServSafe certification
• 6 months' experience working in a fast-paced bar
• Magical Winter Nights is an evening event. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays is required including December 24, December 31, and January 1.
