Job summary

Denver Museum of Nature & Science seeks a Seasonal Guest Services Host to warmly welcome visitors and guide them through museum experiences. The role spans daytime operations and occasional after-hours events, including special programming.

You will assist with tickets, memberships, and theater experiences while maintaining high standards of guest service. The position is part-time, temporary, and seasonal (September–January 2026), with a flexible schedule that includes holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with customers face-to-face and at least 6 months in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides engaging guest experiences through outstanding customer service at multiple museum venues.
• Facilitate kiosk transactions: verify eligibility, apply discounts, answer questions on arrival.
• Communicates membership levels and benefits to guests.
• Ushers guests into Sturm Theater: scans tickets, distributes 3D glasses, assists with theater services.
• Ushers guests into Planetarium Theater: scans tickets, runs show controls, assists guests.

As a Guest Services Host,you'llbe the friendly connection between ourMuseumand its visitors.You'llwork in dynamic, rotating venuesand experiences throughout the building-from the Sturm Infinity Theater and Planetarium-to the main lobby, greeting guests, answering questions, and helping plan their perfect Museum visit. This is atemporary,winterseasonal position that will run fromSeptember-January2026.This role primarily supports our daytimeoperation butwill berequiredto supportextended Friday evening hours andafter-hourseventsas needed.

As a Seasonal Guest Services Host, you must beavailable to workmostof the following holidays during the seasonal termincluding:Thanksgiving (11/26), Black Friday (11/27),Christmas Eve(12/24),New Years Eve(12/31), New Years Day(1/01).The Museum is closed on Christmas Day (12/25).

Hiring Range:$20/hour
Work Schedule:3-4 days/week.The weekly scheduled hours for this position are variedbased on operationalneeds.You cangenerally expectto work20-30 hours a week, butthese hoursmay fluctuate.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with guests of all ages and backgrounds
• Dependable, adaptable, flexibleable towork3-4 daysa weekincludingspecial events, weekends, evenings, and peak attendance periods as needed
• Bilingual is a plus (Spanish/English)

Working Conditions

• Ability to be in bothstationaryandrotatingpositions throughout shift
• Continual operation of a desktop computer, mobile computer,scanneror other technical equipment
• Sturm Theater and Planetarium: ability to ascend/descend stairs, provide equipment to guests, move and store strollers, move rolling racks and other equipment
• Moderate physical activityrequired. Moves racks of 3D glasses, laptops, scanner, ticket stock, and ticket printers.Operates Virtual Reality experiencewhen available: Calibrates and prepares VR headsets,assistwith guestloadin/out of the experience.
• May work in a space with special effects such as visual and sensory enhancements, including atmospheric and lighting effects (strobe, laser)
• Moderate noise (Museum floor, and theaters, medium to high traffic)
