Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Bar Porter will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of bar and cocktail venues both in preparation for, during, and after guest service. This includes supporting the department, maximizing opportunities for success, maintaining all Encore Standards, and ensuring an excellent guest and team member experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensure all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  2. Participate in departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; monitor and evaluate effectiveness; implement improvements.
  3. Contribute to departmental performance, and ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of policies and procedures; record and report accordingly.
  4. Enforce applicable policies, laws, rules, regulations, and property controls within the department.
  5. Deliver and maintain high levels of property-wide service and satisfaction.
  6. Contribute to company-wide communication and best practices.
  7. Stay informed of departmental developments.
  8. Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  9. Assist with collection and transportation of dirty or soiled glassware.
  10. Polish glassware for guest use.
  11. Clean and maintain bar equipment and tools; clean and polish guest-facing elements of the bar.
  12. Empties trash, clean counters, tables, chairs, railings, dust furniture, sweep, and mop floors.
  13. Empty dirty linen containers.
  14. Communicate politely with guests and internal customers, report difficulties or feedback to superiors.
  15. Attend daily briefings and meetings; prepare materials and equipment for shifts.
  16. Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  17. Follow safety standards and prioritize safety in all tasks.
  18. Maintain industry knowledge through education and training.
  19. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years of age or above.
  • Obtain and maintain registration or license from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of related experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of chemicals, SDS, PPE, sanitation, OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to read, interpret documents, and respond in English; second language is a plus.
  • Basic math skills; ability to decipher reports.
  • Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks.
Work Environment
  • Moderate noise, louder in kitchen/back areas.
  • Varying schedules based on business needs.
