Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Bar Porter is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in bar and cocktail venues during all phases of guest service, supporting department success, adhering to standards, and ensuring excellent guest and team member experiences.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Implement and uphold all Encore Boston Harbor core values and standards.
2. Participate in departmental goals, policies, and procedures; monitor effectiveness and suggest improvements.
3. Maintain the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and reports.
4. Enforce internal policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
5. Deliver high levels of service and satisfaction property-wide.
6. Contribute to effective communication and best practices across the company.
7. Stay informed about departmental developments.
8. Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
9. Assist with collecting and transporting soiled glassware.
10. Polish glassware, clean and maintain equipment and tools, and keep guest-facing elements tidy.
11. Empty trash and linen containers, clean surfaces, and sweep/mop floors.
12. Communicate courteously with guests and staff, report issues, and participate in meetings.
13. Prepare materials and clean work areas for shifts.
14. Follow safety standards and continue education on industry practices.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Requirements: Must be 21+, obtain and maintain Massachusetts Gaming Commission license, ServSafe certification preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum 6 months related experience preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required. Knowledge of chemicals, SDS, OSHA guidelines necessary. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks required.

Work Environment:

• Moderate noise, louder in kitchen and back areas.
• Varying schedules due to industry demands.
