Job summary

Four Seasons in Atlanta seeks an experienced bartender to deliver exceptional wine, spirits, and mixed drinks with world-class hospitality. You will work with a professional team in a luxury hotel setting, craft engaging descriptions of menu items, and ensure accurate payments and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; familiarity with bar service preferred.
• Two years bartending or related experience is required.
• Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety of drinks and to handle cash/credit transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve wines, spirits, and mixed drinks per Four Seasons standards (20%).
• Confirm guest orders with the lounge server using the hotel POS; verify against the original order (15%).
• Describe items' origin, taste, and preparation; maintain knowledge of liquors, wines, beers, and cognacs (15%).
• Anticipate guest needs, ensure satisfaction, and respond to concerns promptly (10%).
• Close guest checks and process payments accurately (10%).
• Follow EmPact Work Rules and Standards of Conduct (10%).
• Work harmoniously with coworkers and supervisors (10%).
• Conduct monthly beverage inventory and stock take (10%).
• Non-essential: Serve food, assist with bar inventory, prepare garnishments.

About the role

Serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of wine spirits and mixed drinks as well as information regarding preparation methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and established Four Seasons Standards. (20%)
• Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order. (15%)
• Service and take orders from guests seated at the bar area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beers, ports, armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks. (15%)
• Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. (10%)
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary items. (10%)
• Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact. (10%)
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. (10%)
• Monthly beverage inventory and stock take. (10%)

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Serve food items in the bar area.
• Assist with bar inventory.
• Cut fruit and prepare beverage garnishments.

What you bring

Education: High school education or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum two years bartending or related work.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to pour, mix, and blend a wide variety, of wines, spirits, and missed drinks. Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
