Job summary

The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary, NC is hiring a Bar & Lounge Server Assistant/Food Runner to deliver hot and cold dishes to lounge guests and support servers and bartenders on the floor and in BOH tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related experience, ability to lift 20 lbs, flexible scheduling, and a friendly, hospitable demeanor. Wine knowledge is a plus and tips are included in pay.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of related experience.
Must be able to communicate in English.
Flexible schedule and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift 20 lbs and perform cleaning tasks.
Knowledge of wine is preferred.

Responsibilities

Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform.
Accurately expedite and run food from kitchen to Bar and Lounge, both Hot and Cold foods.
Organize and communicate with staff to deliver food to proper tables for restaurant and Bar/lounge.
Assist in the clearing and resetting of tables.
Coordinate activities with Servers to ensure a smooth dining experience.
Display a cordial, hospitable disposition when interacting with guests.
Assist with In Room Dining service and duties in the kitchen as assigned.
Transport supplies as needed.
Other duties as directed by the Manager.
