Job summary

The LINE DC is seeking a Bar Director to oversee and lead the bar programs across multiple concepts, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and catering. This role will be responsible for the overall vision, profitability, staffing, training, and continued development of the beverage operation.

The Bar Director will work closely with Food & Beverage leadership and operating teams to ensure consistent standards while allowing each concept to maintain its own identity.

Qualifications

• DC ABCA Manager Certified
• High School diploma or GED
• 3+ years in hospitality or service industry preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all bar programs across multiple concepts.
• Develop and evolve beverage menus and programs with culinary and operations teams.
• Establish and maintain beverage standards, recipes, specifications, and service procedures.
• Oversee beverage purchasing, vendor relationships, pricing, par levels, and inventory with distributors and brand partners.
• Create and manage beverage labor plans, staffing levels, scheduling, and deployment.
• Recruit, train, and develop beverage team members and leaders; run ongoing beverage education.
• Collaborate on beverage packages and pricing for events of varying sizes.
• Support daily operations and uphold guest experience across all beverage outlets.
• Analyze beverage sales, costs, margins, and operational performance; report and act on findings.
• Participate in departmental meetings and adhere to all policies and health/alcohol-service regulations.

The Role…

We are looking for a Bar Director to oversee and lead the bar programs across multiple concepts, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and catering. This role will be responsible for the overall vision, execution, profitability, staffing, training, and continued development of the beverage operation. The Bar Director will work closely with Food & Beverage leadership and operating teams to ensure consistent standards while allowing each concept to maintain its own identity.

Essential Functions

1. Provide leadership and strategic direction for all bar programs across multiple concepts, including restaurants, bars, banquets, and catering, ensuring alignment with the overall food and beverage vision.
2. Develop, maintain, and continuously evolve beverage menus and programs, including cocktails, beer, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, and specialty offerings, in partnership with culinary and operations teams.
3. Establish and maintain beverage standards, recipes, specifications, service procedures, presentation standards, and operating procedures across all concepts.
4. In collaboration with restaurant managers, oversee beverage purchasing and ordering, including vendor relationships, pricing, product selection, par levels, receiving, storage, and availability. Maintain strong relationships with distributors, suppliers, and brand partners.
5. Create and manage beverage labor plans, including staffing levels, scheduling, shift coverage, and deployment across restaurant outlets while maintaining appropriate service standards and labor efficiency.
6. Recruit, train, coach, and develop beverage team members and leaders. Create and maintain ongoing beverage education and training programs covering product knowledge, service, salesmanship, responsible alcohol service, and operational standards.
7. Collaborate with Banquets and Catering teams to develop beverage packages, bars, specialty cocktails, and pricing for events of varying sizes and styles.
8. Work closely with restaurant and bar leadership to support daily operations, troubleshoot service challenges, maintain quality standards, and ensure a consistent guest experience across all beverage outlets.
9. Analyze beverage sales, costs, margins, guest feedback, and operational performance. Prepare and communicate reports and recommendations to leadership and implement action plans as needed.
10. Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested. Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, and verbal instructions, as well as applicable health, safety, and alcohol-service regulations.
