The LINE DC is seeking a dynamic In-Room Dining Server to join our team in Washington, DC Ward 1. If hired, you may receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300. A true hospitality mindset and entrepreneurial spirit are essential to deliver remarkable guest experiences.

You will greet guests, master the menu, and coordinate orders using the POS system. Collaborate with peers across departments to maintain service standards, safety, and a pacey, yet supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years experience in hospitality or service industry.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Opera PMS and POS systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and maintain a courteous demeanor.
• Provide expert knowledge of menu items and service sequence.
• Operate the POS system to coordinate orders and payments.
• Maintain table cleanliness and reset tables between guests.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments for smooth service.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA requirements.

The Role…

We are seeking a dynamic In-Room Dining Server to join our team who also resides in the Washington DC Ward 1 Area. If hired, be prepared to receive a Ward 1 Resident Bonus of $300*. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Our culture is pacey but supportive, so you must be able to work in synergy with your peers and the different departments around you. Being an active communicator who is a team player and detail-oriented is a must to ensure a uniquely brilliant service experience for our guests.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Greet every guest promptly with a smile and maintain eye contact
• Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
• Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
• Offer guests an enjoyable experience that conforms to the company’s standards of excellence, professionalism and friendliness
• Demonstrate expert understanding and knowledge of the sequence of service, following this sequence for every guest.
• Must possess a full knowledge of menu items, their ingredients and preparation techniques
• Possess expert knowledge of the POS system to correctly and strategically coordinate guest food and beverage orders
• Clear, mark and take ownership of table maintenance. Wipe and reset tables
• Anticipate guest needs, including pre-bussing, re-ordering, check delivery and payments and ensure overall guest satisfaction
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures and policies
• Responsible for receiving payment for all items ordered, receives and correctly handles cash, appropriate receipt and distribution of gratuity
• Assist coworkers in any task necessary to ensure a great environment for guests and coworkers
• Execute any additional employee duties requested by management
• Possess expert knowledge of all food and beverage aspects of the In-Room Dining
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the hotel
• Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
• Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
