Job summary

Loews Hollywood Hotel is seeking an energetic Barback to support a fast-paced bar team in Los Angeles. You will help bartenders by restocking, setting up, and maintaining a clean bar area to ensure seamless service for guests.

The role emphasizes reliability, organization, teamwork, and the ability to multitask during busy periods. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply, with a wage of $18.83 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push 75+ pounds.
  • Continual bending, lifting, carrying and stooping.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fast-paced environment and multitasking ability.
  • Flexible to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Replenish and restock the bar with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, garnishes and supplies.
  • Assist bartenders with setting up and breaking down the bar before/after shifts or events.
  • Prepare garnishes and drink essentials like cherries and olives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area; wash/dry glassware and wipe surfaces.
  • Keep bar organized; ensure tools and supplies are accessible.
  • Clear dirty glasses and empty drinkware from guest tables and bar counters.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert staff when low.
  • Provide friendly assistance to guests with basic requests.
  • Support bartenders during peak hours for timely beverage delivery.
  • Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverages.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per standards.
  • Work varying schedules as needed.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare garnishes such as lemon, lime, and orange wedges, as well as other drink essentials like cherries and olives.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by washing and drying glassware, wiping down surfaces, and removing trash regularly.

  • Keep the bar organized, ensuring tools, equipment, and supplies are easily accessible.

  • Clear dirty glasses and empty drinkware from guest tables and bar counters.

  • Monitor stock levels and alert bartenders or management when supplies are running low.

  • Provide friendly assistance to guests with basic requests or questions.

  • Support bartenders during peak hours to ensure timely delivery of beverages.

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverage handling and bar cleanliness.

  • Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.

  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.

  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
