Job summary

Loews Atlanta Hotel in Midtown seeks an energetic Barback to support the bar team. You will replenish stock, assist bartenders, and keep the bar organized to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.

This on-site role emphasizes reliability, multitasking, and teamwork, with opportunities to grow in a vibrant hospitality environment. Prior bar/restaurant experience preferred; ability to lift 75+ pounds and work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

  • Able to lift 75+ pounds and perform continual bending.

  • Flexible to work all shifts, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Replenish and restock bar supplies during shifts.
  • Assist bartenders with setup and breakdown.
  • Prepare garnishes and drink essentials.
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and sanitize surfaces.
  • Keep bar organized and accessible.
  • Clear dirty glasses from tables and counters.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert when low.
  • Provide friendly guest assistance with requests.
  • Support bartenders during peak hours.
  • Follow health, safety, sanitation guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol laws.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and adapt to schedule changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
  • Replenish and restock the bar with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies throughout the shift.
  • Assist bartenders with setting up and breaking down the bar before and after shifts or events.
  • Prepare garnishes such as lemon, lime, and orange wedges, as well as other drink essentials like cherries and olives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area by washing and drying glassware, wiping down surfaces, and removing trash regularly.
  • Keep the bar organized, ensuring tools, equipment, and supplies are easily accessible.
  • Clear dirty glasses and empty drinkware from guest tables and bar counters.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert bartenders or management when supplies are running low.
  • Provide friendly assistance to guests with basic requests or questions.
  • Support bartenders during peak hours to ensure timely delivery of beverages.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for beverage handling and bar cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol laws and regulations.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications Include
  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push 75 plus pounds.
  • This position requires continual bending, lifting, carrying and stooping.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Must be flexible to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
