Job summary

Coury Hospitality seeks a Banquets Houseman to support successful banquet events by setting up, breaking down, and maintaining event spaces to standard. You will ensure rooms are arranged, clean, and equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences while assisting with heavy equipment and venue controls.

The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Banquet/hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and event diagrams accurately.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to event quality standards.
• Basic lifting techniques and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, diagrams, and specifications.
• Arrange tables, chairs, staging, linens, and equipment as required for events.
• Break down event spaces after functions and return all items to proper storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage rooms and service areas.
• Assist with moving and arranging heavy equipment, furniture, and décor items.
• Support banquet servers and captains with event execution as needed.
• Ensure all event spaces are reset and prepared for upcoming functions in a timely manner.
• Deliver and retrieve banquet equipment, supplies, and linens as directed.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management immediately.
• Follow all safety procedures when lifting, moving, and handling equipment.
• Assist with polishing glassware, silverware, and banquet equipment as needed.
• Support setup and breakdown of audio-visual equipment when required.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
• Provide assistance during large events, including conferences, weddings, and meetings.
