Book Cadillac Detroit is seeking a Banquets Server - On-Call to support our Banquets department during weddings, corporate events, and other gatherings. You will provide attentive food and beverage service, including bartending support, and help ensure guest satisfaction across upscale events.

This on-call role requires flexibility, a minimum of one shift per month, and the ability to lift up to 25-30 lbs while setting up and breaking down banquet spaces.

Our hotel is seeking a dedicated Banquets Server - On-Call to support our dynamic Banquets department. Job Summary

As a Banquets Server - On-Call, you will play a key role in executing seamless banquet events, from elegant weddings to corporate functions. You will be responsible for providing attentive food and beverage service, including bartending support, ensuring every guest receives exceptional service. This on-call position requires flexibility and a minimum commitment of one shift per month, with additional opportunities based on event volume.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, courteous, and professional food and beverage service to guests during banquet events, meetings, and special functions.
• Execute bartending duties, including preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with hotel standards and responsible service practices.
• Set up and break down banquet rooms, including table settings, linens, glassware, and service stations, in alignment with event specifications.
• Collaborate with the Banquets team and Catering/Events staff to ensure smooth event execution and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, buffet stations, and bar setups throughout each event.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve any service concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and alcohol service procedures.
• Support banquet captains and supervisors with additional tasks as needed to ensure successful event outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in food and beverage service, banquet service, or a related hospitality role preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
• Commitment to working a minimum of one on-call shift per month.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused mindset.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays or serving equipment for extended periods during events.
• Must be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs as needed for setup and service tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior bartending experience or certification (e.g., TIPS or equivalent responsible beverage service training).
• Experience working in a 4-star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Familiarity with banquet event order (BEO) processes and large-scale event service.
• Food handler's certification or willingness to obtain one.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of proper table setting, service etiquette, and banquet service styles (plated, buffet, family-style).
• Basic bartending skills, including beverage preparation and knowledge of standard drink recipes.
• Understanding of food safety and alcohol service regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a high-volume, time-sensitive setting.
