Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. is seeking a Banquets & Events Attendant to set up, service, and tear down banquet spaces, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for guests at Giants Ridge in Minnesota.

The role emphasizes anticipating guest needs, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting efficient event operations. The position involves working with kitchen, sales, and event staff, handling POS transactions, and providing bar service when assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn property food handling and sanitation practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to identify issues and proactively communicate with supervisors.
• TIPS certification or the ability to obtain certification, if required.
• Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, including guests and coworkers.
• Ability to operate a point‑of‑sale (POS) system, including ability to consistently handle monetary transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and respond promptly to requests.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of banquet and event spaces per orders and direction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events.
• Monitor events for proper presentation and replenish food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
• Clear tables, remove dishes, and ensure timely clean‑up during events.
• Collaborate with kitchen, sales, and event staff for smooth execution.
• Address guest concerns and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards and report hazards.
• Store and care for equipment and reusable materials after events.
• Provide bar service at events when assigned, per certifications and policies.
