Job summary

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is seeking a banquet server to deliver exceptional guest experiences at private events. You will read BEOs, set up events, maintain high banquet standards, and responsibly break down areas with proper equipment storage.

Candidates should be comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds, standing for long periods, and working varied shifts while maintaining a polished appearance and alignment with Hard Rock values.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a banquet server and/or bartender.
• Versed in banquet table service.
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow the BEO to coordinate events.
• Set up of private events according to the Banquet Manager/Captain instructions.
• Follow all banquet standards to maintain guest service excellence.
• Breakdown of all areas and proper storage of banquet equipment.
• Adhere to policies and procedures of Banquet Department and Hard Rock.

Job Description:

• Read and follow the BEO
• Set up of private events based upon the instructions of the Banquet Manager/Captain
• Follow all banquet standards in maintaining our high level of guest service
• Breakdown of all areas and proper storage of all banquet equipment
• Understand and follow through with all policies and procedures of the Banquet Department and the Hard Rock Organization
• Work as a team with all other servers and staff
• Be at your very best at all times and create an experience for our guests that is memorable and beyond their expectations
• Any other and all duties assigned by the Banquet Manager/Captain

Job Requirements Include:

• Performing duties which require bending & reaching
• Able to lift up to 25-pounds
• Standing or walking on the floor for up to 8+ hours
• Maintaining a well-groomed appearance (“having a plan”)
• Following all uniform guidelines
• Practicing all safety & sanitation standards
• Recycling products, where possible
• Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere
• Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency
• Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests and co-workers – never allowing personal life or outside influences to dictate attitude
• Maintaining HRC’s 5 core Values and Mission Statement
