Job Description

We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our team at the Omni William Penn Hotel, a historic and prestigious hotel in Pittsburgh. This role involves assisting in managing the hotel kitchens in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, maintaining Omni standards, and fostering a positive atmosphere for staff.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the culinary operations, focusing on banquet and restaurant kitchen production
  • Ensure efficient operation of all food production outlets
  • Order and maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, produce, and meats
  • Handle administrative tasks such as documentation, menu updates, staff scheduling, and correspondence
  • Coach and mentor kitchen staff
  • Participate in food and beverage and management meetings
Qualifications
  • Organized with experience in administrative duties like payroll and menu design
  • Experience managing staff in a busy environment
  • 2-3 years of culinary management experience in a high-volume hotel with banquet operations
  • Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
