Job summary

The Landings Golf and Athletic Club, a private luxury residential club on Skidaway Island near Savannah, seeks a Full-Time Front of House Supervisor to oversee event setup, guest service and banquet operations. The role requires teamwork, professionalism and a commitment to club standards in a resort-style atmosphere.

Responsibilities include greeting members, reviewing BEOs, setting up for events, coordinating with kitchen and servers, and maintaining a polished appearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Prior set-up experience preferred.
• Ability to adhere to club standards of service.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position.
• Excellent verbal, written and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
• Familiarity with POS, payroll and back-office systems.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Greets and communicates with all members in a warm, courteous and prompt manner.
• Maintains a professional appearance and mannerism.
• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure understanding of room set up requirements for events.
• Assists with set-up of tables, linens, chairs, etc. for full service of banquet events.
• Prepares room for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes and temperature as needed for before guests arrive.
• Maintains sense of urgency when on the floor.
• Organizes and cleans banquet storage, audiovisual area, linen storage shelves and the inventory rooms.
• Cleans the back kitchen and service areas.
• Assists kitchen and banquet servers in serving banquets.
• Performs light maintenance tasks, as needed and assigned.
• Drives company vehicles to pick up or deliver supplies.
• Complies with departmental uniform and grooming standards.
• Works effectively as a team with all departmental employees.
• Works variety of shifts, as needed, to include nights, weekends and or holidays.
• Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and/or walking 98% of shift.
• Lifting, carrying or moving from 1 pound up to 25 pounds for 20% of shift.
• Lifting, carrying or moving from 25 pounds up to 50 pounds for 80% of shift.
• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and upward reaching for 85% of shift.
• Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills.
• Works in varied weather conditions, as dictated by function

FOH Supervisor Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior set-up experience preferred.
• Previous experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Ability to adhere to club standards of service.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the position.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills.
• Knowledgeable of food, wine, and spirits.
• Understanding of POS systems, payroll systems, and back-office computer systems.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
