Job summary

Montauk Yacht Club, part of Proper Hospitality, is seeking a Banquet Houseperson to support setup, maintenance, and breakdown of events on Montauk's waterfront. You will ensure spaces are ready, clean, and organized before, during, and after events, coordinating with banquet teams.

The role emphasizes lifting and moving chairs, tables, and equipment, with flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is an on-site position at Montauk Yacht Club.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous banquet or event experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up banquet spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, glassware and other items as per event orders.
• Break down and clean up banquet spaces after events and return furniture/equipment to storage.
• Assist with inventory and organization of banquet equipment and supplies.
• Deliver and retrieve items from storage including chairs, tables, podiums, A/V equipment.
• Support banquet team during events, including food/beverage stations and guest requests.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment and proper disposal of trash and debris.
