Job summary

Cherokee Town & Country Club is seeking a Banquet Houseman to join our Banquets team. The role involves set-up and tear-down of banquet spaces and buffets, ensuring spaces meet guest expectations and the Cherokee Standard.

You’ll assist with events from weddings to meetings, supporting room preparation, cleanliness, and supplies while providing hospitable, detail-oriented service across shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Friendly, welcoming and professional personality.
• Strong attention to detail and hospitable attitude.
• Previous Houseman experience in a private club or similar environment.
• Basic understanding of event setup.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain focused while on your feet and moving.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• ServSafe certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for banquet events by setting up and taking down tables, chairs, linens, and other event equipment.
• Set up banquet rooms for weddings, meetings, parties, and other events.
• Ensure banquet rooms are arranged according to guest expectations and the Cherokee Standard.
• Serve or assist in serving food items as needed.
• Clean and organize banquet rooms, hallways, storage areas, and service areas.
• Inventory and care for banquet supplies.
• Refresh rooms and maintain cleanliness between events.
• Clean event spaces and banquet supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Banquets Manager and staff.
