Job summary

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa in Portland, ME is seeking a dependable Part-Time Banquet Houseman to support our banquet and events team. You will set up rooms, arrange furniture and assist with service in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a professional appearance to ensure guest spaces are ready for every function and the event runs smoothly.

Qualifications

• Previous banquet or events support experience is preferred.
• Able to lift and move equipment and stand for long periods.
• Excellent English communication and guest-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet and function rooms with tables, chairs, linens, signage and AV equipment.
• Prepare spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Stock function rooms with glassware, notepads, pens, refreshments, and other supplies.
• Refresh meeting rooms and deliver scheduled beverage, snack, and food service breaks.
• Arrange food and beverage displays attractively and professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout function rooms, banquet closets, linen storage, and AV storage areas.
• Monitor banquet equipment and supplies, reporting missing or damaged items.
• Identify maintenance concerns and communicate them to the supervisor.
• Respond to guest requests and assist with event needs as required.
