Job summary

Colwen Management Inc. is seeking friendly On-Call Banquet Servers for the Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks in South Portland, ME.

You will provide smooth and efficient food service during events, set banquet rooms, and ensure guest satisfaction. Ideal candidates have excellent interpersonal skills, prior banquet or restaurant experience, the ability to operate a POS system, and the stamina to lift trays up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve problems.
• Previous server experience preferred.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with a team.
• Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
• Must be able to lift, balance and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure banquet rooms are set according to banquet event orders and management specifications.
• Acknowledge and welcome each guest with a smile and friendly greeting.
• Take orders from guests and relay to kitchen or bar staff.
• Review and understand event plan at shift start.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and composition.
• Deliver food, beverages, and condiments as requested.
• Ensure food is prepared correctly and to guests' satisfaction.
• Clear tables and collect used dishes.
• Adhere to Colwen and brand standards and liquor policies.
• Help keep areas clean and stocked.
• Set tables and keep items clean and in good repair.
• Assist with other restaurant tasks as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
